What is accomplished during an aircraft 100 Hour Maintenance Inspection
Because we are a Flight School, we’re required to comply with stricter, uncompromising directives prescribed by the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s)
Engine & Propeller: The oil is changed, filter is cut and inspected for contaminants, spark plugs are cleaned/gapped/tested, magnetos are checked, and compression is tested.
Airframe & Structure: Panels, cowlings, and fairings are removed for inspection of the fuselage, wings, and tail for damage, corrosion, or stress.
Systems & Components: Fuel systems, electrical wiring, flight controls (cables, pulleys), and avionics are inspected.
Landing Gear: Wheels are removed, bearings repacked, tires checked for pressure/wear, and brakes inspected.
Run-up: A final engine run-up checks for performance issues, proper magneto operation, and instrument function.
